About Us
Australian India Foundation (AIFI) is formed by a group of volunteers who have come together to give something back to the community that we are part of. Our aim is to work tirelessly to improve people to people contact between Australian and Indian communities.
Our projects are aimed at improving people life by concentrating on their development and making them self reliant. We don’t want to make any one dependent on aid rather we want them to improve their life by making them responsible for it.

The purposes of the association is
- To promote sustainable Economic and Infrastructure development in India by delivering short term and long term devlopment programs.
- To conduct community aid programs in Australia.

- To work with women group in rural India and help to create a livelihood for themselves.
- Promote people to people contact between Australian and Indian communities.
- Help under privileged children to get education.

- Help people regardless of religion and/or ethnic background.
- Organizational support in developing projects for the conservation, preservation, and restoration of the global environment.

ARUN SARAVANAVELU
PRESIDENT
Arun Saravanavelu is the President of Australian India Foundation (AIFI) and Joined the AIFI executive committee in 2016. He is an IT professional worked across multiple countries in various management roles. Always known as people’s person and go-to person for any personal/official issues they come across.
Has a strong desire to give back to the community and been a contributor to non-profit organisations for a decade. He shall work towards Better Education for Better Future for kids and strong believer that more educated people can make the world more livable for next generation. He has studied Computer Applications in Masters and Mathematics in Bachelor’s.

DHANA SEKAR MURUGAVEL
SECRETARY
Dhana Sekar Murugavel is the Secretary of Australian India foundation (AIFI) and joined the AIFI Executive committee in 2016. Dhana graduated with Masters in Business Management from Satyabama University in 2001 and have worked in three countries in various management roles. During these years he pursued studies in community development and have been involved in many activities to support local community level projects.
Dhana lived in Colombo, Srilanka for four years and witnessed the Asian Tsunami 2004 first hand. A firm believer in changing people’s lives by making them self-reliant through education.

CHANDRA MOHAN SWAMINATHAN
TREASURER
Chandra Mohan Swaminathan is the Treasurer of Australian India foundation (AIFI) and joined the AIFI Executive committee in 2016 has completed his Bachelor of Technology and Master of Business in ERP systems.
Chandru worked in several management roles where he learned the people skills across many different regions and attained the passion towards serving people who are in need of great help and facilitated with local communities where he grew up and doing the same where he settled.

GOPALAKRISHNAN MUTHUSAMY
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER
Gopalakrishnan Muthusamy is a passionate individual who has desire for the field of social work originates from a genuine wish to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Having spent the last few years working in the community with various roles, he come to realise that his passion lies in helping people who are less advantaged.
Gopal has joined the Australian India Foundation Inc (AIFI) executive committee in 2016. Gopal holds Master’s degree in Information Technology from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

MURTHY MUTHUSWAMY
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER
Murthy Joined the AIFI Executive committee in 2016. Murthy is a qualified Engineer and has been working in the IT/Software Industry for more than thirteen years, leading teams and delivering projects in various domains. Currently working as Manager of IT and Development in one of the leading Technology company in the Real estate domain. Murthy brings in extensive knowledge in project management and Information technology.
A keen interest in community development and helping people to become self reliant saw Murthy joining Australian India Foundation. Murthy is a very active volunteer and manages the Information Technology team at AIFI.
